Mill Hide, Cambridgeshire, UK
Architect - Tim Poulson
Mill Hide is a four bedroom house located next to a nature reserve close to Cambridge.
This house was the first Paragraph 79 project to be approved by South Cambridgeshire District Council’s planning committee, in May 2021.
The house is conceived as a single sculptural form, inspired by Palladio's Villa Rotunda and the large landscape sculptures of Richard Serra. Mill Hide is conceived as a singular, sculptural form.
The design is intricately aligned with the four cardinal points, creating a building that is as much a work of art as it is a home.
When Tim & Elizabeth Poulson approached me to photograph this project I decided to document it through the seasons, making about eight visits. I completed a set of images and a 20 minute video to assist with entry to industry awards.

Mill Hide won a Greater Cambridge Design and Construction Award in 2025. For best new building under £ 3m. The project was also Highly Commended in the Craftmanship Award Category.
