Interior and Architectural Filmmaker

I create architectural and interior film alongside still photography, approaching each commission with motion and narrative continuity in mind. Working to production-level standards, I use deliberate lighting and precise camera movement to reveal atmosphere, spatial rhythm and material detail.

Rather than treating film as an add-on, each project is conceived as a cohesive visual body of work — still and motion designed to sit seamlessly across websites, presentations and editorial platforms. The same attention to light, composition and timing that defines my photography informs every frame of moving image.

Mill Hide / Tim Poulson

A significant house situated near Cambridge next to a nature reserve.

This film was created over the summer/autumn of 2024 to capture the house in different light. A four month project. Tools used included lav mics, aputure LED lights, DJI drone, electronic slider and a gimbal for walkthroughs.

Neo Bankside Penthouse / Studio Reed

‘Tate Modern and the Millennium Bridge have changed not just the South Bank but also Britain, and Neo Bankside is at the very heart of it all.

It is an extraordinary developement - there is nowhere quite like it in London.’

Lord Richard Rogers.

Allies and Morrison Studio, Southwark

Three buildings - one concrete, one Victorian, one timber - have been designed, adapted, restored and extended by Allies & Morrison practice to create the compact, integrated campus of studio space.

Serpentine Pavilion 2015 / Selgascano

In 2015, Spanish architects selgascano designed the 15th Serpentine Pavilion. The award-winning studio, headed by José Selgas and Lucía Cano, was the first Spanish architecture practice to be asked to design the temporary Pavilion on the Serpentine’s lawn in London’s Kensington Gardens.

The Shard with Clouds / Renzo Piano

I took this from one of the lift lobbies at Neo Bankside, just behind the Tate Modern. Inside, high up by the entrance to a penthouse I was photographing. It was one of those lucky experiences that the window cleaners came out exactly at the same time I set off the time lapse.

Cramner Road / Allies & Morrison

The first major Passivhaus buildings in Cambridge, this new student accommodation delivers 59 new graduate rooms for King's College, Cambridge. It comprises of two distinct, new buildings - a 'Garden Building' and a 'Villa Building' - both set within the gardens of three existing villas. The gardens themselves have been substantially re-landscaped to unify the site as a 'graduate campus' delivering on the College's aim to enhance student experience/wellbeing and increase participation in college life.

Poliform Showroom, Chelsea.

Poliform is a leading company in the furniture manufacturing business; it has established itself through the unique entrepreneurial vision of its founders. For over 50 years the company has been synonymous with highest quality products and made in Italy and it has successfully researched and defined a contemporary lifestyle in an ever-changing world.

House in Coombe Park / Eldridge London

Eldridge London’s House in Coombe Park, London, is located in a secluded enclave of inter-war suburban bungalows and takes a markedly contrasting approach to the redevelopment of the site from the pastiche neoclassical neighbours being built nearby.

The main accommodation is below the entrance rotunda at the garden level, connected by a staircase to the first floor structure floating above. The surprising appearance of the building is generated from the specifics of its site and context but allied to a fully functional plan with the owner committing to the architects' imaginative contemporary design.

Manser Medal Winner 2017

Regency House, London / MS-DA

This Grade II listed Regency end of terrace is a very narrow but six story home for two art dealers and their three children. The Regency character had suffered after a mansard roof was added in 1939 and a lot of the original features had been lost, probably during a refurbishment in the 1980-ties. But the building retained its integrity and charm and offers a decent sized south facing patio garden and magnificent views over the roofs of Belgravia in earshot of St Peter's Church on Eaton Square.

Old Street Station / WW+P

According to WW+P..

‘Old Street Station with a landmark new entrance and pedestrianised public realm. The new entrance provides a focal point and grand sense of arrival and departure into and from the new pedestrianised peninsular. The orientation of the entrance maximises the passenger volume, natural daylight transparency and sightlines across the public realm for a high-quality user experience.

The project received TfL’s top award for Outstanding Environmental initiative in 2024. The new station entrance features an extensive green roof, which supports local biodiversity and drains rainwater into a Sustainable Urban Drainage (SuDs) system. Our public realm work incorporates innovative paving that draws in pollution from the air and allows it to be washed harmlessly away.’

150 High Holborn / Perkins + Will

150 Holborn unites London-based members of the Sidara Collaborative—Dar, Perkins&Will, Portland Design, Currie & Brown, Introba, Maffeis Engineering, and Penspen—under one roof.

This state-of-the-art workplace accommodates over 1,000 staff who, together, are committed to advancing ecological health and well-being through design and engineering. The building fosters collaboration and the exchange of ideas between Sidara member firms, while also ensuring each firm retains its unique identity.

Homerton College Dining Hall / Fielden Fowles

Feilden Fowles has completed a striking new faience-tiled dining hall at Homerton College, University of Cambridge, after winning an international open-call design competition in 2017. The new building for Cambridge’s youngest College comprises a dining hall, buttery, kitchens and associated staff amenities on a 3,000m2 site adjacent to the Arts and Crafts style Ibberson Building (1914) and Victorian Gothic Revival buildings.

Serpentine Pavilion 2022 Black Chapel / Theaster Gates

Black Chapel is a site for contemplation and convening, set within the grounds of Serpentine in Kensington Gardens. The structure’s central oculus emanates a single source of light to create a sanctuary for reflection, refuge and conviviality. The project mirrors the artist’s ongoing engagement with ‘the vessel’ in his studio practice, and with space-making through his celebrated urban regeneration projects.

Las Arenas / Richard Rogers + Alonso y Balaguer

The Las Arenas bullring formally re-opened to the public on 25 March 2011 as a major new mixed-use leisure, entertainment, and office complex. The historic bullring, built at the end of the 19th century, fell largely into disuse during the 1970s due to the declining popularity of bull fighting in Catalonia.

The design has created an open and accessible entrance to the new building at street level. In addition, an adjacent building - the 'Eforum' - provides retail and restaurants at ground and first-floor levels, with four levels of offices above.

Old Park Lane / Dar Global

Situated on the corner of Old Park Lane and Piccadilly, overlooking Green Park. Nº149 is one of the finest Grade II properties on Old Park Lane. It has been meticulously redeveloped and designed to the highest of standards throughout.

Footage shot in portrait mode for instagram reels.

Magdalene College, Cambridge Library / Niall McLaughlin

The library is a suite of interconnecting rooms lined with bookcases, reading desks and galleries. The spaces are single height, double height and triple height, rising to a long elevated gallery overlooking the lawn and the water. The larger spaces are flanked by smaller niches and rooms with glimpses connecting them together. The interior spaces are made from a cross-laminated timber structure with hardwood shelves and tables. The intention is for all of the key features to be perceived as an interwoven set of elements. Roof lights, columns, shelves, light baffles.

Paddington Station / WW+P

According to WW+P..

‘The Paddington Integrated Project is all about improving the passenger experience at one of London’s busiest mainline stations. As a result of our work to streamline connections to and through the station, Paddington is much easier for people to navigate and move around, whether they are travelling by rail, underground, bus, taxi or on foot.

Paddington is the second most used station in Britain, with almost 60 million entries and exits every year. Our work to improve connections and usability at Paddington is part of a bigger picture to encourage more public transport use in London – taking private cars off the road and reducing the carbon footprint of transport in the city.’

Montpelier Row, Knightsbridge

Some interior clips of a house on Montpelier Row I photographed.

Ness Point, St Margaret’s Bay - Tonkin Liu

‘Ness Point is grown out of the dramatic landscape of the white cliffs of Dover. The undulating form of the plan orientates the internal spaces to different aspects of the landscape beyond. Each room is characterised by its own spectacular view: towards the cliffs along the coast, across the english channel with the passing ships, and to the rising or setting sun. The texture of the white rendered walls of the building catches the dynamic and ever-changing play of light that reflects off the
 sea below.’

Here is a short film I made of the project while photographing it over three days.

2nd Floor Apartment, The Whiteley - Waterson Consultancy

Part of a 1.5 billion redevelopment of the former Whiteleys shopping center in West London, which was London's first department store.

Designed by Foster + Partners, the project includes 153 high-end homes; London's first Six Senses hotel with 110 rooms; 20 new stores and restaurants; and a series of large-scale public spaces.

These are images and video footage are of a four bed apartment on the second floor commissioned by Waterson Consultancy.

Architectural Film & Reels

I produce architectural video content designed for today’s platforms — from short films to social media reels and website motion assets. My role on location is to capture beautifully composed 4K footage that complements the still photography and elevates the overall visual narrative of a project.

I began filming architecture and interiors in 2012, initially documenting high-end residential projects such as the penthouse at Neo Bankside by Studio Reed, followed by a studio film for Allies & Morrison. Since then, motion has become an integrated part of my commissions. I regularly shoot in both landscape and portrait formats, ensuring content works seamlessly across websites, presentations and social media.

Professional Capture, Cinematic Movement

Over the past decade I have refined a lightweight but highly capable production setup. Using gimbals, electronic sliders and drones, I introduce subtle movement that reveals spatial depth, materiality and atmosphere.

I record in high-resolution formats with extended colour depth to ensure flexibility in grading and post-production. My lighting approach mirrors my photographic practice — controlled, natural and designed to enhance architectural form without overpowering it.

The result is clean, elegant footage that editors can shape into polished films for award entries, presentations or brand campaigns.

Flexible Collaboration & Production Support

For most architectural commissions, I supply carefully structured footage and ‘B-roll’ assets that are invaluable for marketing teams and editors. If a larger production is required, I collaborate with trusted professionals for dedicated audio recording, interviews and full post-production.

My approach is always pragmatic: if we have access to a significant project, it makes sense to capture motion while we are on site. Even a modest amount of high-quality footage can dramatically extend the life and reach of a project.

If you are planning an architectural shoot, I would strongly recommend discussing motion alongside stills — it is often the most efficient way to maximise impact.
