Heritage Interior Photography
I create heritage interior and architectural photography for historic buildings in London and internationally, working with institutions, estates and designers who value craftsmanship, conservation and atmosphere. My approach is careful and deliberate, documenting sensitive interiors in a way that respects their fabric while revealing their spatial character.
From royal palaces and museums to listed country houses and restored townhouses, I work with controlled lighting and compositional precision to articulate texture, proportion and material integrity — producing imagery that honours both the architecture and the histories embedded within it.

Heritage & Cultural Institutions
I have extensive experience photographing historic interiors and heritage architecture for institutions including Historic Royal Palaces and the National Trust.
My commissions have included Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace, the Banqueting House and the Tower of London, as well as Chartwell (Winston Churchill’s former home), Hardwick Hall and Agatha Christie’s Greenway.
I have also photographed culturally significant spaces such as Shakespeare’s Globe and the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, together with specialist craft environments including the de Gournay showroom in Chelsea with its hand-painted wallpapers.
Each project requires sensitivity — not only to the architecture itself, but to the historical narrative embedded within the space.
Craft, Conservation & Technical Care
Historic interiors demand absolute care — both visually and physically. I work methodically, with a deep respect for original materials, surfaces and artefacts.
My approach combines careful composition with controlled natural light, often supplemented subtly to maintain atmosphere without compromising authenticity. Colour accuracy and tonal balance are critical when documenting historic decoration, textiles and finishes.
I am accustomed to working within conservation constraints and understand the importance of protecting fragile floors, walls and furnishings. Equipment is managed carefully and thoughtfully to ensure no disruption to the integrity of the space.
Architecture, Atmosphere & People
Beyond documentation, my aim is to reveal atmosphere — the way light moves across carved stone, aged timber, painted plaster or gilded detail.
Where appropriate, I also photograph the custodians of these environments: curators, craftspeople, historians and conservators. These portraits add context and narrative, linking architecture with the people who preserve and interpret it.
This crossover between architecture, interiors and portraiture allows me to produce complete visual stories for publications, exhibitions and institutional archives.
